She may have only recently been declared the most beautiful woman alive by People magazine, but we all know Jennifer Aniston has been perpetually gorgeous for the past two decades.
The actress is renowned for her timeless beauty.
Jennifer’s skin is flawless and she looks far younger than her 47-years. The actress has recently revealed her best anti-aging secrets and here’s the low down on her simple steps.
Apply less makeup
You may feel like you need to cover up your skin if it’s feeling tired, but the Friends star advises the opposite.
‘I had a boyfriend who always said I looked better without makeup. It took me a while to feel comfortable enough to remove that armor, but I eventually realized he was right,’ Jennifer told InStyle.
Giving your skin a break from the slap or at least switching to a BB cream, can remove the years a mask of maquillage can add to your look.
Hydration is key
Aniston cites water as one of her key anti-aging ingredients.
The actress, who is an ambassador for SmartWater, drinks at least 2 to 2.5 litres of water a day.
Getting a reusable one-litre water bottle and challenging yourself to have the entire cannister drank by the time you finish work is an excellent way to start increasing your hydration levels. Your skin will feel the benefits.
Keep sunscreen to hand
‘When I was younger, I would slather myself in baby oil and do everything in my power to get a burn. I was just completely uneducated,’ the star told InStyle, reflecting on her prior skin care mistakes.
Wearing a factor 50 (Jennifer swears by Aveeno’s Natural Protection SPF50) completely protects your delicate skin from damaging UV rays which speed up the ageing process.
Although the actress admits that she does love to lie out on a sunny day, ‘there’s nothing like that vitamin D boost,’ she never foregoes the sun protection.
Moderation not deprivation
When asked about her approach to healthy eating, Aniston says ‘everything in moderation,’ when reflection on her diet which is full of lean proteins and fresh, organic fruits and veggies.
The star also tries to avoid gluten and cheese but says that cheese is one of her vices.
Enjoying all of the food groups in moderation leads to a healthy, balanced diet with the right ratios of healthy fats and proteins necessary for maintaining healthy, elasticated skin.
Remember what’s important
Aniston stresses the importance of not getting caught up in the battle to turn back time.
Ageing gracefully is important to the star, who feels that true beauty comes from within.
‘When I think about real beauty looks like, I think about women like Gloria Steinem . She just turned 82 and she is gorgeous. But her beauty has nothing to do with what she looks like,’ she told InStyle.
